CREATION AND RE-CREATION

Genesis 1:1

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth”

The beginning - the dateless, eternal past

God created – Hebrew “bara”- to bring into being;  Hebrews 11:3

“And God made the firmament…”  Compare Genesis 1:7

Made – Hebrew -“asah” to make out of existing material. This is different to “bara” – to create.  Scripture records “And God saw everything that He had made, and, behold, it was very good…” Genesis 1:31   This refers to their RESTORATION in the 6 days after the chaos of Genesis 1:2.

The original creation of Genesis 1:1 was perfect; Deut. 32:4 and inhabited by man in the dateless past. Jeremiah 4:23-26.

Jeremiah 4:23 “I looked on the earth, and behold, it was formless and void..” This expression                                          in Hebrew is “tohu va bohu—waste, desolate, empty ”are  the same words used in Genesis 1:2    “And the earth was “without form and void…”  Note the lack of light, mountains, hills, man, birds, fruitful land and cities.

Isaiah 45:18 states “He created it not in vain – (Hebrew “tohu”-waste),  He formed it to be inhabited”, whereas verse 2 refers to chaos.

Genesis 1:2

The Hebrew word “hayah”, translated as was, “And the earth was formless and void...” This is translated elsewhere in the scriptures 67 times as BECAME.  So this verse should read “And the earth became without form and void…”

Genesis 1:3-31 records the RESTORATION of the earth from a chaotic state, and its second habitation with man and the present creatures were brought into being about 6,000 years ago. Geologists estimate the age of the earth to be billions of years old and this does not conflict with any scripture.

Genesis 1:2 “And darkness was over the face of the deep.” Darkness and water covered the earth. Darkness is always a result of judgment by God and never creation. Exodus 10:21; Joel 2:31; Revelation 6:12.

Water covering the earth refers to a flood that destroyed the world that then was. (Greek “kosmos” social systems ). This encompasses the pre-adamic world to which all fossils and remains belong. This devastating flood is mentioned in Psalm 104:5-9 as well as in 2 Peter 3:5-8.  Peter is not referring to Noah’s flood because this flood totally destroyed the world –“kosmos”-social systems”, which did not happen as a result of Noah’s flood.  Peter is referring to a period of time before Adam- “the world that then was.”

The judgment upon the pre-adamic world was caused by the Lord’s fierce anger. Jeremiah 4:26.  What caused this judgment and fierce anger of the Lord?  Read Isaiah 14:12-20 and Ezekiel 28:11-19 carefully.

I believe it was caused by Lucifer’s fall through pride and rebellion. It would appear that he had ruled over the pre-adamic world, Isaiah 14:12; “he weakened the nations”, and then wanted to be like the most High God.  Isaiah 14:14; “I will ascend above the clouds; I will be like the most High.”  Scripture records that Lucifer was cast out of heaven to the earth with one third of the angels and became satan. Revelation 12:3-4; Luke 10:18.

SUMMARY

God destroyed all life on planet earth with a cataclysmic flood, then restored life and man on the planet again and commanded him to replenish the earth (not plenish).

When satan was allowed in the garden in Eden, he was already a deposed ruler of the planet coming before Adam and Eve, God’s appointed rulers on earth.  Man failed to exercise his dominion over satan by subduing him as mandated by God. Genesis 1:26-28.  The result of this willful disobedience by the 1st Adam was that man lost the Kingdom of God on earth; the planet and man were cursed and this fallen angel became the pseudo ruler by default.

In the fullness of time Jesus, the last Adam came to earth and destroyed the works and rulership of the devil, 1 John 3:8, through the finished work of the cross. Colossians 2:15.

He opened heaven for all who believe on Him and restored rulership on the earth of the Kingdom of Heaven to man. 1Peter 2:9-10; Luke 12:32.

JESUS IS BOTH LORD AND KING!

NOW TO THE KING ETERNAL, IMMORTAL, INVISIBLE, TO THE ONLY WISE GOD, BE HONOUR AND GLORY FOREVER AND EVER. AMEN.  1 Timothy 1:17
